With Major League Table Tennis Season 4 just weeks away, many of the league's biggest stars delivered a powerful reminder of the talent fans will soon see on the professional stage.

Competing at the 2026 U.S. National Table Tennis Championships in San Jose, current MLTT players captured four national championships, claimed three of the four Men's Singles medals, and reached championship matches across multiple events. From established veterans to rising young stars, the MLTT family once again demonstrated why the league features many of America's top table tennis players.

Daniel Tran Leads an Outstanding Week

No MLTT player enjoyed a more successful tournament than Daniel Tran of the Chicago Wind.

Tran collected four medals, winning the U19 Boys Singles National Championship, the Men's Doubles National Championship with Nandan Naresh (Texas Smash), and the U19 Mixed Doubles National Championship alongside Sally Moyland. He also added a Mixed Doubles silver medal with former New York Slice player Jessica Reyes-Lai.

Familiar Faces Return to the Men's Singles Podium

The Men's Singles event once again showcased the incredible depth of talent within Major League Table Tennis.

Nikhil Kumar (Portland Paddlers) advanced to the championship match to earn the silver medal, continuing the outstanding form that helped Portland capture the MLTT Season 3 title.

Joining Kumar on the podium were Jishan Liang (Florida Crocs) and Sean Zhang (Chicago Wind), who each claimed bronze medals.

Their performances were even more impressive considering that both Liang and Zhang also earned bronze medals at the 2025 U.S. National Championships, repeating as semifinalists against the nation's strongest field.

With Kumar's runner-up finish, three of the four Men's Singles medalists were current MLTT players. That remarkable showing underscores the level of competition fans can expect when those same players return to the table for MLTT Season 4.

Amy Wang Excels On and Off the Court

Amy Wang (Texas Smash) continued one of the most consistent careers in American table tennis by reaching another Women's Singles final, earning the silver medal.

The championship match went to rising star Sally Moyland, but Wang's second consecutive appearance in the national final further demonstrated why she remains one of the country's elite competitors heading into MLTT Season 4.

Away from the table, Wang recently celebrated another milestone by graduating from UCLA alongside fellow MLTT standout and longtime roommate Rachel Sung. Balancing collegiate academics while competing at the highest level of American table tennis is a remarkable achievement and speaks to the dedication shared by many MLTT athletes.

Doubles Success Across the League

MLTT players also made their presence felt throughout the doubles competitions.

Portland Paddlers teammates Nikhil Kumar and Sid Naresh earned the Men's Doubles bronze medal, continuing the chemistry that helped power Portland to the MLTT championship last season.

Sid Naresh also partnered with Tiffany Ke to earn a Mixed Doubles bronze medal, while Ke added another bronze in Women's Doubles.

Florida Crocs star Jishan Liang captured the Mixed Doubles National Championship with Sally Moyland, while Daniel Tran and Jessica Reyes-Lai finished as runners-up.

The Future of MLTT Is Already Arriving

The success wasn't limited to current professionals.

Carolina Gold Rush head coach Shigang "Alex" Yang watched proudly as his daughter, Mia Yang, produced one of the tournament's best junior performances.

Mia captured the U11 Girls Singles National Championship, added a silver medal in U11 Mixed Doubles, and earned a bronze medal in U11 Girls Doubles, leaving San Jose with three medals.

Former MLTT reserve Tashiya Piyadasa also impressed, earning silver in U19 Girls Doubles and bronze in U19 Mixed Doubles.

These accomplishments demonstrate that MLTT's impact extends well beyond professional competition. The league's players, coaches, and families continue to help develop the next generation of American table tennis.

Momentum Builds for Season 4

The 2026 U.S. National Championships offered a glimpse of what fans can expect when Major League Table Tennis returns.

Current MLTT players won four national championships, reached championship matches in Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, and filled podiums throughout the tournament.

For established stars, San Jose reinforced their place among America's best. For rising players like Daniel Tran and Mia Yang, it marked another step toward an exciting future.

When the opening serve of MLTT Season 4 is struck, many of the athletes competing won't just be league stars—they'll be the same players who stood on the podium at the nation's most prestigious championship just weeks earlier.
