Gambling & Integrity Policy

Last Updated: July 15, 2025

Major League Table Tennis (“MLTT”) is committed to preserving the integrity of table tennis, including all events it organizes (“MLTT Events”), as well as the reputation of its players, coaches, and affiliated personnel. Gambling on MLTT Events poses potential threats to the fairness and credibility of the sport and may undermine internal league cohesion. Accordingly, MLTT recognizes its responsibility to fans and associated personnel to implement safeguards that protect MLTT Events from the risks associated with gambling.

This MLTT Gambling & Integrity Policy (“Policy”) sets forth the standards of conduct expected of all individuals associated with MLTT. For clarity, this Policy applies to all full-time and part-time personnel, including corporate staff, players, coaches, umpires/referees, production crews, commentators, and other individuals working in connection with MLTT Events (“MLTT Personnel”). This Policy does not apply to concession stands, EMT, security, or arena staff who are not affiliated with MLTT. The Policy outlines both permissible and prohibited activities and is intended to serve as a guiding framework for all MLTT Personnel.

1. GAMBLING – DEFINITION AND EXAMPLES

Gambling is defined as the wagering of money and/or something else of value, on an event with an uncertain outcome with the intent of winning additional money and/or thing(s) of value. There are three elements involved in gambling.

(a) Consideration. Consideration refers to the act of putting something of value at risk in exchange for the opportunity to win a prize. This usually involves placing a bet or making a wager, which can take many forms, such as betting on a sports event, buying a lottery ticket, or playing a casino game. The consideration can be in the form of money, property, or anything else of value.

(b) Chance. Chance refers to the random or unpredictable nature of the outcome of the activity being bet on. In most forms of gambling, chance is the primary factor that determines the winner or loser.

(c) Prize. The prize is the reward or payout that the winner of the activity receives. This can take many forms, such as cash, merchandise, or other types of rewards.

There are many forms of gambling, which include, but are not limited to, sports betting, casino gambling (such as slot machines, roulette and blackjack), both online and at retail locations, interactive gaming, lotteries and betting on horse racing.

2. PROHIBITED GAMBLING ACTIVITIES

MLTT Personnel are strictly prohibited from engaging in or facilitating any form of illegal gambling. This includes participating personally or through an agent. Illegal gambling encompasses any gambling activity forbidden by law in the United States or any other applicable jurisdiction. Examples include, but are not limited to, unlicensed sports betting, unregulated casinos, and other forms of gambling not sanctioned by the relevant authorities. MLTT Personnel will be deemed to have engaged in illegal gambling activities either by personally participating or by using an agent to conduct such illegal gambling on their behalf.

MLTT Personnel are further prohibited from engaging in the following gambling related activities, regardless of the legality of such activities:

(a) Gambling on MLTT Events. MLTT Personnel are strictly prohibited from engaging in or in any way facilitating any bet, whether personally or with an agent, on any MLTT Event. For the avoidance of any doubt, such prohibition extends to, but is not limited to, any bets on the outcome of matches, duration of matches, statistics connected to matches as well as any proposition bets relating to individual player performances.

(b) Match Fixing. MLTT Personnel are prohibited from influencing the outcome of any MLTT Event or the statistics related to any MLTT Event. This prohibition covers, but is not limited to, accepting bribes in any form, monetary or otherwise, to influence the outcome of a MLTT Event.

(c) Good Faith Effort. In addition to the prohibitions set forth in subsection 2(b) above, pursuant to agreements entered into by all players, MLTT players further acknowledge and understand that all MLTT Events must be determined solely by the honest competition and skills of the respective players. MLTT players shall also provide a good faith effort to put forth their best efforts during all MLTT Events.

(d) Inside Information. MLTT Personnel are prohibited from using and/or disclosing in any manner confidential information or information unavailable to the public that can in any way provide the individual in possession of the information with an unfair advantage if used for gambling purposes.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, MLTT Personnel are permitted to participate in legal gambling activities that do not in any way involve MLTT Events.

3. POLICY AVAILABILITY

A copy of this policy shall be accessible at all MLTT Events and at https://www.mltt.com/gambling-integrity-policy

4. REPORTING OBLIGATIONS

MLTT Personnel are obligated to report any violations or suspected violations of this Policy to a member of the MLTT Integrity Committee (currently Flint Lane, Mimi Bosika and Anthony Vigorito). Any retaliation against an individual for reporting a violation, suspected violation, or for assisting the investigation of a reported violation of this Policy, constitutes a violation of this Policy. Any questions regarding this Policy or the obligations it presents can be directed to Anthony Vigorito.
