PRINCETON, N.J., May 6, 2026 — Major League Table Tennis today announced the launch of the SPINDEX mobile app, now available on iOS and Android, making its global table tennis rating system more accessible than ever. SPINDEX is a free, global rating system — and the only one in table tennis with a dedicated mobile app — giving players a clear, consistent way to measure skill level and connect through competition. With the new mobile app, that experience moves fully into players’ hands, removing the need for desktop registration and simplifying how matches are played, recorded, and tracked.
The app introduces a new 1-on-1 Challenge feature, allowing players to challenge anyone to a rated match directly through the platform. Results can be submitted instantly, with ratings updating in real time based on verified outcomes. The update expands competitive access beyond tournaments and leagues, making meaningful matches possible anywhere.
“This is a major step forward for how table tennis is played and tracked,” said Mimi Bosika, SVP, Competition at Major League Table Tennis. “SPINDEX was built to give every player a rating they can trust. Now, with the mobile app, we’re making it effortless to compete, log matches, and see progress in real time. You don’t need a tournament. You just need a table.”
“This is a game changer for table tennis globally,” said Dima Ovtcharov, former World #1 Player. “Turning SPINDEX into a mobile, real-time competitive platform makes it easier than ever to play, track, and challenge anyone, anywhere. That kind of accessibility is what unlocks the next wave of growth for the sport.”
The SPINDEX app also features a fully redesigned interface, with a cleaner look, improved navigation, and a more intuitive experience for players at every level, from beginners to advanced competitors.
Since its launch, SPINDEX has grown into a global platform connecting thousands of players across clubs, leagues, and independent play. The mobile release represents the next phase of that growth, focused on increasing participation, match frequency, and player engagement worldwide.
SPINDEX remains free to use, with open registration available globally through the app. Players can establish an initial rating by submitting a verified rating from another system or by estimating their level and building confidence through match play.
