MLTT is evaluating potential U.S. markets and prospective ownership groups for the new teams, which will begin play in Season Five. The league currently has 10 teams representing Atlanta, the Bay Area, Carolina, Chicago, Florida, Los Angeles, New York, Portland, Princeton and Texas. New York and Atlanta joined ahead of the 2025-26 season.
MLTT's co-ed competition features men and women competing on the same teams, with its Season Four player rosters including 22 Olympians representing 13 countries.
The expansion follows a significant increase in MLTT's media distribution for the 2026-27 season:
MLTT's digital audience has also grown early in Season Four:
"We're reaching more fans through live matches, television and social platforms, and we believe the time is right to bring MLTT to more markets," said Flint Lane, Founder and CEO of Major League Table Tennis. "Adding two teams gives us the opportunity to build new local fan bases alongside ownership groups that share our vision for professional table tennis."
MLTT will announce the two expansion markets and their ownership groups at a later date. Prospective owners interested in learning more can contact the league at TeamSales@mltt.com.
