Florida’s Jishan “All In” Liang (SPINDEX: 2737) has been named Player of the Week for Week 3 of Major League Table Tennis’s (MLTT’s) fourth season, the league announced on Wednesday.
Texas’s Nandan Naresh (2808) and Florida free agent Andrea Todorovic (2532) also received nominations for Week 3 Player of the Week.
Liang won five of his nine Singles games during Week 3 against Texas’s Hiromitsu Kasahara (2747), Atlanta’s Kayama Yu (2820) and New York’s Kaden Xu (2676). He also won five Doubles games and contributed a team-high 15 points in his three Golden Games.
Liang’s performance in Week 3 earned him a power rating of 773.6, which ranks fifth in MLTT’s current Season 4 power rankings. He currently holds a Singles percentage and Doubles percentage of 55.6% (5-4), and his Golden percentage of 71.4% (15-6) ranks fourth among all MLTT players as of this article’s publication.
Week 3 marked Liang’s debut with the Florida Crocs, who selected him with the 23rd pick (Round 4) in the Season 4 MLTT Draft. Liang now becomes the first Croc to earn this award since Week 1 of Season 3, when Peiyu Zhu (2570) won Women’s Player of the Week.
Before he joined the Crocs, Liang spent two seasons with the Princeton Revolution before the New York Slice selected him in the Season 3 MLTT Expansion Draft. The Slice released Liang following that season, making him a free agent and eligible to be drafted that offseason.
Liang’s contributions helped the Crocs earn an undefeated Week 3, making them the second team to do so this season. The Crocs currently sit atop the East Division with a 3-0 record and 38 points.
Liang and the Crocs will play their next set of matches during Week 5 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, N.C. They will face the Portland Paddlers on Friday, Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. ET, the Princeton Revolution on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. ET and the Carolina Gold Rush on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 2:30 p.m. ET.
