PRINCETON, N.J. and NEW YORK, N.Y. (October 28, 2026) – Major League Table Tennis (MLTT) and PingPod today announced that SPINDEX, MLTT's global table tennis rating system, is now integrated with PingPod's PodPlay platform and available at every PingPod location.
The integration allows players to record SPINDEX-rated singles matches during regular table reservations, without needing to enter a tournament or attend an organized event. Eligible match results are automatically submitted to SPINDEX, making it easier for players to establish ratings, measure their progress and compete with others.
The new functionality builds on the collaboration announced by MLTT and PingPod in February 2026, when PingPod began encouraging its players to register for SPINDEX and participate in rated 1-on-1 Challenges.
Through the PodPlay integration:
“At PingPod, we want to make it easier for people to play more, improve, and compete,” said Ernesto Ebuen, Co-CEO of PingPod. “Now players can turn a regular reservation into a rated match without entering a tournament or attending an organized event. It's another way we're making competitive table tennis more accessible to players of all levels.”
“We built SPINDEX so every match counts, not just the ones played in a tournament,” said Flint Lane, Founder and CEO of Major League Table Tennis. “With PodPlay, a PingPod player can book a table, play a friend and build a rating in the same visit. Making rated play part of everyday table tennis is how we grow the sport, and PingPod is the right partner to lead it.”
PingPod is also offering dedicated SPINDEX events at select locations, with plans to expand the program.
SPINDEX is free to use and provides players with a global rating on a universal 0-to-3000 scale. Its Confidence Level metric adds context to each player's rating based on the volume, quality and recency of verified results.
