PRINCETON, N.J. and NEW YORK, N.Y., Feb. 6, 2026 — Major League Table Tennis today announced a collaboration between its global rating system, SPINDEX, and PingPod that encourages PingPod players to register for a SPINDEX rating and record eligible one on one matches played at PingPod locations toward their official SPINDEX rating.
The collaboration expands competitive table tennis beyond traditional leagues and tournaments by enabling everyday head to head matches to contribute directly to a global rating system. Through SPINDEX 2.0, players who register at SPINDEXTT.com can submit verified one on one match results, including matches played at PingPod locations, which update both their rating and Confidence Level. This provides a clearer picture of skill level, match history, and competitive reliability.
SPINDEX is a free, global rating system developed by Major League Table Tennis to give players of all levels a consistent way to measure performance and track progress. Built on a universal 0 to 3000 scale, SPINDEX allows players to compare results across regions, venues, and competitive formats. Confidence Levels provide additional context by reflecting the volume, quality, and recency of verified match play.
“Players will now be able to do something they have never done before and make every match count,” said Mimi Bosika, senior vice president of competition at Major League Table Tennis. “PingPod has consistently pushed the sport forward through innovation, and this collaboration helps extend SPINDEX’s goal of creating a single global language for table tennis that works wherever people play.”
PingPod operates technology enabled table tennis clubs designed for casual play, leagues, and competitive training. Through this collaboration, PingPod is encouraging its players to sign up for SPINDEX and take part in one on one challenge matches that can contribute to their global rating.
“We’re excited to collaborate with SPINDEX to offer our players a more meaningful competitive experience,” said Ernesto Ebuen, Co-CEO of PingPod. “By encouraging our community to participate in SPINDEX, we’re helping players connect their everyday matches to a broader competitive ecosystem, whether they are playing for fun or focused on improvement.”
Registration for SPINDEX is free and open worldwide. Players can establish an initial rating by submitting a verified rating from another system or estimating their level using the SPINDEX Rating Scale. Continued verified match play increases Confidence Levels over time, while inactivity reduces confidence to help ensure ratings remain accurate and current.
