All 10 Major League Table Tennis (MLTT) teams have finalized their rosters ahead of Season 4.
Each team spent the past two weeks deciding which players they will keep for Season 4 and negotiating contracts with those players. All remaining roster spots were filled during the Season 4 MLTT Draft on Thursday.
Twenty-four players were selected in this year’s MLTT Draft. Each team made at least one selection in the Season 4 Draft, with the Florida Crocs ending the draft with the most players picked (five).
The Atlanta Blazers held the first overall selection in the Season 4 MLTT Draft, which they used to select Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna. The Texas Smash used the second overall pick on Japan’s Takuya Jin, and the Florida Crocs drafted Egypt’s Omar Assar third overall.
Other notable names selected in the Season 4 MLTT Draft include France’s Antoine Hachard (fourth overall to Bay Area) and South Korea’s An Jaehyun (fifth overall to South Korea). Several MLTT veterans, including South Korea’s Kang Dong-Soo and USA’s Jishan Liang, will play on different teams in Season 4.
The Carolina Gold Rush signed Hong Lin via the league’s new Returning Player Rule, which allows teams to bypass the draft to sign certain candidates with MLTT experience. Lin is the only new addition to a team’s roster outside of the MLTT Draft.
