Princeton’s Yang Shuo (SPINDEX: 2751) has been named Player of the Week for Week 15 of Major League Table Tennis (MLTT), the league announced on Tuesday.

Portland’s Hampus Nordberg (2758), Atlanta’s Kayama Yu (2804) and Princeton’s Benedek Olah (2750) also received nominations for Week 15 Player of the Week.

Yang made his MLTT debut in Week 15, and he won six of his nine Singles games against Portland’s Nikhil Kumar (2777), Atlanta’s Braxton Chang (2604) and Florida’s Angel Naranjo (2613). He also scored 16 Golden Game points in Week 15, tying Bay Area’s Elsayed Lashin (2712) in Week 6 for most Golden Game points scored in a single weekend by a Player of the Week winner this season.

Yang’s performance guided Princeton to a 2-1 record and 38 points during Week 15, which secured them the final spot at Championship Weekend. He finished the regular season as the league’s No. 2 player, trailing only teammate Cho Seungmin (2818).

Yang is the fifth player to win Player of the Week for their performance in their MLTT debut weekend, and the first to do so since New York’s Haeeun Choi in Week 4. This award marks the first time a member of the Revolution has won Player of the Week this season.

The Revolution will return during Championship Weekend from April 18-19 at Table Tennis Academy in Fremont, Calif. Yang is not eligible to participate in this year’s postseason tournament, as he failed to compete in at least three of his team’s regular season weekends.

The Revolution will face the league-leading Portland Paddlers in the first round of the postseason on April 18 at 4 p.m. EST. They will end their Season 3 on April 19 in either the consolation match or championship match, depending on how they perform against Portland.
