Registration for the Season 4 Major League Table Tennis (MLTT) Draft has officially opened, the league announced on Thursday.

Players interested in being considered for the Season 4 MLTT Draft must sign up using the league’s official registration form. The form will remain open until March 23. 

The form consists of several questions related to availability, tournament results, and International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) world ranking, among other related topics. All applicants must create a free SPINDEX account in order to access the form and register for the Season 4 MLTT Draft. 

Many of the league’s biggest superstars were selected in the MLTT Draft, including Florida’s Liam Pitchford (SPINDEX: 2897), Chicago’s Emmanuel Lebesson (2758) and Princeton’s Benedek Olah (2735). Atlanta’s Yuya Oshima (2775) and New York’s Koki Niwa (2753) were the top two selections in the Season 3 MLTT Draft, and both have already emerged as the faces of their teams.

Several of the league’s top-ranked players this season were also selected in the Season 3 MLTT Draft, including Princeton’s Seungmin Cho (2805), Chicago’s Robert Gardos (2810) and Portland’s Kang Dong-Soo (2788). Kang was not selected in the first round, and neither were fellow Player of the Week winners Chen Sun (2561) and Mohamed Shouman (2697). 

The Draft as a method of assigning table tennis players to teams is unique to MLTT. It takes heavy inspiration from the drafts of other U.S. sports leagues, such as the National Football League (NFL) and National Basketball Association (NBA). 

MLTT will hold its Season 4 Draft shortly after the conclusion of championship weekend, either at the end of April or early in May.
